China's civil aviation administration has given FedEx permission to launch its first air-cargo service to Beijing and Shanghai from the USA in early March, using a Boeing 747-200. FedEx is the only US-based cargo carrier allowed to operate into China, having acquired the right from Evergreen. The carrier plans eventually to link China with its Subic Bay-based AsiaOne network.
