US Department of Transportation (DoT) regulators have demanded that FedEx repay $29 million of the $101 million the cargo carrier received to compensate it for losses while grounded immediately after the September 2001 attacks. The challenge, which FedEx will contest, is the most significant yet. The DoT is undertaking similar investigations into five other cargo carriers.
