Boeing vice-president sales Scott Carson has revealed that John Feren, the former 787 sales vice-president, has been put in charge of a newly created leasing and asset management group set up to stimulate new commercial business and, more specifically, to attract leasing companies.

“With the creation of this unit we will engage leasing companies as partners. We are delighted with the results and the creativity we’re seeing,” says Carson.

As part of its agenda, the new group is actively engaged in helping Boeing secure fleet-wide deals that in some cases, such as several impending 777 Long Range deals, are believed to include trade-ins with Airbus A340-500/600s.
