The new chairman of the UK Civil Aviation Authority is to be Sir Malcolm Field. Field is a former chief executive of the W H Smith bookstores chain, and a past board member and chairman of the Navy, Army and Air Force Institute. He will succeed the present chairman, Sir Christopher Chataway, at the end of May.
