The aviation community has long been aware of the perils that metal fatigue poses ever since the series of BOAC Comet 1 air disasters in the mid-1950s first uncovered the problem.

Knowledge of the subject has come a long way since then and US company Fatigue Technology (FTI) is at Farnborough to talk about its commitment to solving fatigue-related issues.

FTI has developed new applications for cold expansion to enhance the fatigue life of advanced materials and complex structures for the aerospace industry and other applications .The company uses the latest technology, including a fully-equipped testbed and finite element modelling capabilities, with computer analysis to ensure techniques are right up to date. You can find Fatigue Technology in hall 2, stand A50.
