Air-India's revenue jumped 15.8% in rupees but operating expenses increased by 18.7%, halving the operating profit to $22m. The net profit was after $4m compensation for premature surrender of lease rights.

Air Malta's long-term debt rose 43% as it added four new RJ70s and launched five new scheduled routes. Charter traffic fell 13.1% due to lower yields amid competition from charter carriers.

EVA Air has revealed that its net loss narrowed to $37.2m in 1994, down from $84m in 1993. The carrier made an operating profit of $24m in 1994 and hoped to break even in 1995.

Fast growth did not help Royal Brunei, whose revenues jumped nearly 21% but net losses widened to nearly $90m, around half its turnover. The result means the carrier now has negative equity to the tume of $70m.

PIA's net profit doubled as it held its operating cost increase to 5.2% compared with revenue growth of 6.6%. Interest income halved to $6m but the carrier made a $4.4m extraordinary gain.

Airbus does not report profits, but its turnover rose by $1.1b as it delivered 124 aircraft to 30 customers. The turnover increase arose from a higher proportion of widebodies, which accounted for 49 deliveries.
