Finland has announced its selection of EADS Casa’s C-295 to replace its remaining two Fokker F27 transports. To be signed this week, the production contract will cover the delivery of an initial two aircraft, with options to be included on another five. Helsinki had also evaluated the Alenia Aeronuatica-promoted C-27J Spartan to meet the requirement during an 18-month assessment phase.
