Turkey's first fire-fighting aircraft has successfully completed its launch mission after conversion to the role by Tusas Aerospace Industries (TAI). The former Grumman S-2E Tracker maritime patrol aircraft was converted by TAI to carry 4.5t of water and chemicals. It is being operated by the Turkish ministry of forestry in the Serik, Antalya region of Turkey. TAI is planning to convert 14 more S-2Es if funding can be secured.
