The first C-130J Hercules destined for active-duty service with the US Air Force made its debut with a 5h 7min flight from Lockheed Martin's Marietta facility in Georgia on 28 January. Set to join the 314th Airlift Wing's 48th Training Squadron at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas on 16 April, the aircraft will be assigned to USAF Air Training and Education Command. The air force ordered 40 C-130Js for its active-duty fleet as part of a multi-year contract signed last year with the US Marine Corps.
