UK-based leisure group First Choice is seeking to offload its package holiday business, including in-house carrier First Choice Airways, for around £500 million ($982 million). MyTravel and Thomas Cook are among the interested parties. First Choice says it is in preliminary discussions with several parties, although it adds: "There can be no certainty that any transaction will be forthcoming." UK-based MyTravel says it sees a deal as "an opportunity to deliver significant value...given the value of potential synergies and other consolidation benefits".
