The US Navy has embarked the first Boeing F/A-18Es on board an aircraft carrier. VFA-115 deployed 12 Super Hornets from NAS Lemoore, California, to the USS Abraham Lincoln. Meanwhile, the USN has issued its preferred options for US East CoastF/A-18E/F basing. They are: six fleet squadrons and the 32-aircraft fleet replacement squadron (FRS) at NAS Oceania, Virginia, with four squadrons at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina; or eight squadrons and the FRS at Oceania and two at Cherry Point.
