Seawind Aircraft flew the first 300C production aircraft late last month from its Canadian base at Saint Jean Airport, Quebec. The initial phase of flight testing will cover visual flight rules certification and is expected to take around four months, says Seawind.

In July, Seawind parent company Advanced Aero received a C$2.8 million ($2.33 million) loan guarantee from the Quebec government to help fund certification and production of the 310hp (230kW) Teledyne Continental IO-550N-powered piston single.
