Marking the BAE Systems Nimrod MRA4’s first overseas deployment, the second of three design and development aircraft, PA02, flew to the Italian air force base of Sigonella in Sicily earlier this month for preliminary hot-weather trials. The aircraft (pictured with Mount Etna in the background) has been operated in average daytime temperatures of 40˚C (104˚F), says BAE.
