First Lancers

Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) chairman CG Krishnadas Nair says a first batch of four Lancer light attack helicopters will be delivered in February or March next year, according to press reports in India. HAL has orders for 20 Lancers, a variant of the HAL Cheetah, itself a licence built Aerospatiale SA315B. The machines are intended for counter-insurgency operations in mountainous terrain.
