Iberia has taken delivery of the first of eight Airbus A340-600s it is due to receive over the next three years. This is part of the airline's first deal for three -600s due for delivery this year, that were ordered by Swissair before it collapsed. Iberia holds orders for five -600s to be delivered between 2004 and 2006. The 342-seaters will be operated with Iberia's A340-300s from Madrid to Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico and New York Kennedy.
