MBDA is analysing technical data from the first test firing of a Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile earlier this month. Conducted in Sweden from a Saab-operated Gripen fighter, the launch was the first of an anticipated three data-gathering test firings of the new-generation weapon, which will enter service with the air forces of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the UK from around 2012.
