Tunisian start-up Express Air Cargo has recruited Lithuanian MRO specialist FL Technics to conduct maintenance on two Boeing 737s prior to the carrier's launch.
The MRO provider says the two 737-300s have arrived at its Vilnius headquarters for inspection, regular maintenance and potential repairs. FL Technics is additionally reviewing the aircraft's technical records.
Express Air Cargo technical and airworthiness director Hassen Aissaoui says the airline had been looking for a "trusted EASA-certified maintenance partner with European standards and modern technological background to start our operations".
FL Technics chief Zilvinas Lapinskas notes: "With the airline business being as volatile as ever, every MRO – FL Technics included – is concerned with the diversification of its client and service portfolios in order to overcome any instability in the industry."
He adds that FL Technics is awaiting EASA approval for a newly established hangar operation at Soekarno-Hatta International airport in Indonesian capital Jakarta.
