Latvian carrier Air Baltic has exercised options on another 10 Airbus A220-300s, taking its total commitment to 90 aircraft.
Air Baltic is already the largest European operator of A220s with a fleet of almost 50 examples, having launched services with the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G-powered type at the end of 2016.
Martin Gauss, Air Baltic chief executive, says: “For the first time in the company’s history, Air Baltic plans to operate a fleet of close to 100 A220-300 aircraft, and these exercised options are the next step in the right direction.
“Over the years, this aircraft type has proven its operational capabilities and value – it has been the backbone of our operations and has played an integral role in the international success story of Air Baltic.”
Air Baltic has been an all-A220-300 operator since 2020, a type which it configures in a 148-seat layout.
