US lessor Air Lease has emerged as the customer behind an order for four Airbus A350s previously attributed to an unidentified client.
Airbus had disclosed the order – for three A350-900s and a single -1000 – in December last year.
But analysis of its newly-released backlog figures, covering the first two months of 2019, show that these aircraft have been listed against Air Lease.
The lessor previously had 25 A350s on confirmed order.
Its additional four aircraft take the company’s total to 29 comprising 19 A350-900s, six of which have been delivered, plus 10 A350-1000s.
Airbus has secured overall firm orders for 852 A350s of which 168 are the larger variant.
