Air Macau has exercised the option to purchase one Airbus A320neo from Hong Kong-based lessor China Aircraft Leasing (CALC).

The flag carrier was granted the option on 11 March 2019 to buy one A320neo that it was set to take on operating lease from CALC by the end of 2019.

Upon receiving the aircraft, the carrier had one year to exercise the purchase option on that aircraft, which it did on 28 February, CALC says in a stock-exchange filing.

“Completion of the purchase option will take place by the end of March 2020 and the aircraft will be disposed to Air Macau on the completion date,” adds the lessor without disclosing further details.

Cirium fleets data shows that Air Macau received one A320neo from CALC on 13 December. MSN 9206 is being leased via special purpose vehicle ZF Ireland Aircraft 78.

The airline also received three A320neos from BOC Aviation last year, in April, May and June.

The other new generation aircraft in its fleet is an A321neo, delivered by Air Lease in December.
