American Airlines has closed a sale-and-leaseback for a Boeing 737 Max 8 with Orix Aviation, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
The aircraft (MSN 44450) was delivered to the Fort Worth-based carrier on 6 June.
American has sale-and-leaseback financing in place for 16 mainline aircraft deliveries, comprising 11 737-8s and five Boeing 787-9s, due through the end of this year.
The airline leases 40 aircraft from Orix, including 12 Airbus A319s, four A321s and 19 737-800s, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
American declined to comment on the sale-and-leaseback with Orix.
