Flight today (17 September) completes the acquisition of the biweekly Commercial Aviation Report (CAR) and monthly Commercial Aviation Value Report (CAVR) titles from London-based publisher Commercial Aviation Media (CAM).

The titles will be merged into Flight’s portfolio, which includes Flight International and Airline Business magazines, as well as the leading web portal www.flightglobal.com, the online premium service Air Transport Intelligence (ATI) and the ACAS fleet database.

In an innovative move, the CAM magazines will no longer be published in print, but moved online, complementing Flight’s best-selling ATI news and data service.

They will be rebranded as Flight Commercial Aviation Online and include the latest aircraft deal transactions, new aircraft and airline financings, analysis of airline financials, expert industry comment and financial gossip from the aviation market.

Laura Mueller and Olivier Bonnassies, who have edited and published the two titles within CAM will transfer with the business, reporting to Flight’s Managing Editor Andrew Doyle. They will be based at Flight’s offices in Sutton, Surrey, UK.

CAM’s two events  – The US Valuation Conference (1-3 October 2007 in Washington) and The European Aviation Conference (26-27 November 2007 in Venice) – will also transfer to Flight, which already runs many aviation conferences including the expanding Network series and the new Asian Aerospace Congress.

Laura Mueller said: “We’re delighted to be joining the Flight team. Commercial Aviation Report has developed a strong reputation for delivering specialist aviation finance information in magazine format and now with the aid of Flight’s expertise in online delivery we’ll be able to reach a much wider audience.”

Flight publisher Melanie Robson said: “We are very excited at the prospect of bringing together these complementary businesses as there are considerable benefits for customers on both sides. Flight is widely recognised as the world’s number one information provider for the aerospace industry, and Commercial Aviation Media is a leading name in the air finance market. The acquisition will ensure that Flight continues to offer an unrivalled source of information to aviation professionals.”
