Flight International's prestigious Aerospace Industry Awards ceremony, launched at Asian Aerospace six years ago, provided a highlight of the week for a cavalcade of senior industry representatives who gathered at the gala event at the Ritz-Carlton hotel last night.
The evening culminated with the announcement of the Aerospace Industry Personality of the Year, which went to Michael Chowdry, chief executive officer and president of Atlas Air, operator of the largest fleet of 747 cargo aircraft in the world.
Ten other awards were presented for excellence and outstanding achievements by the recipients over the past 12 months.
