Flight Daily News is the top airshow daily - and that's official.

Flight Daily News wins awardAt the Aerospace Journalist of the Year awards, held at the Meridien Hotel in central Paris, Flight Daily News won the first-ever Best Show Daily award in the gala event organised by the World Leadership Forum in conjunction with the Royal Aeronautical Society.

The winning entry was the first day's newspaper at the Farnborough airshow last year.

And there was more good news for the Flight Group.

The top writing team of Max Kingsley-Jones, Guy Norris, Stephen Trimble and Graham Warwick won the award for the Best Regional Aircraft submission for "Teething Troubles", the in-service report on the Bombardier CRJ 700.

David Learmount won the award for the Best Air Transport submission for a story in Flight International called "The Great Escape" about the crew who survived last year's Airbus A300 freighter shootdown at Baghdad.

Recognised

FDN editor Alan Peaford, who collected the silver trophy from the World Leadership Forum's Malcolm Turner, said: "This is a great moment for us to be recognised in the first-ever competition specifically for show dailies.

"There is a hard working team of talented people working in close co-operation with the marketing and communications professionals in the industry to bring real news in real time and hopefully adding value for show visitors and delegates."
