The Israeli aviation authority has certificated Elta’s Flight Guard countermeasures system, clearing the way for the country’s passenger aircraft to be equipped with the anti-surface-to-air-missile system. Flight Guard uses directional sensors that activate dispensers of “dark” flares that are invisible to the human eye.
