SR Technics plans to complete its restructuring of FLS Aerospace by the end of the year before rebranding the Dublin- and London Stansted-based operations SR Technics Ireland and SRTechnics UK, respectively. Chief executive Hans Ulrich Beyeler says a wide-ranging integration programme will mean that, by then, FLS's "product delivery levels" will be on a par with its Swiss owner's.
SR Technics is reducing capacity at the Dublin heavy maintenance centre from 1.3 million to less than one million man hours, with a 10% reduction in headcount from 1,300 at the time of the acquisition in June.
Speaking at MRO Europe in Copenhagen last week, Beyeler said further consolidation in the maintenance, repair and overhaul sector was needed.
