Flybe has placed a major re-order with Bombardier for the Dash 8 Q400, firming up its 20 options to become the largest customer for the turboprop. Deliveries of the $485 million order to the UK low-cost operator will take place over the next four years, taking its Q400 fleet to 41 aircraft. Flybe has 16 Q400s in service, with another five from a previous order still to be delivered. FlyBe says that its need for more aircraft has been driven by the growth in its regional network: "The increased fleet will provide greater capacity for expansion as well as making a significant contribution to Flybe's ongoing commitment to minimise the environmental impact."
