FOKKER FLEW its Fokker 60 military utility transport for the first time on 2 November. The Royal Netherlands Air Force, the launch customer for the aircraft, will take delivery of two aircraft in May 1996, with a further two being delivered in June of that year. The Fokker 60 has a fuselage stretched by 1,620mm over that of the baseline Fokker 50.
The first flight lasted for 4h, with the aircraft's basic handling characteristics being verified. Type certification is expected by May 1996.
The aircraft is also being considered for use in the civil passenger market.
