FOKKER SERVICES of the Netherlands, a division of Fokker Aviation, the company born out of the bankruptcy of Fokker Aircraft in March this year, is seeking a joint venture with an East Asian maintenance company or airline to meet the service requirements of operators in the region.

Erik Goedhart, Fokker Services vice-president for marketing and sales, says that nearly 100 Fokker aircraft are operated out of Indonesia, and he hopes to have a new service centre established in the region "by the end of 1997". Fokker Services already has maintenance bases in the Netherlands and Atlanta, Georgia, in the USA.

Dutch multi-national holding company Stork is in the final stages of negotiation to take over Fokker Services in a 100% buy-out deal with Fokker Aviation.
