Saab Ericsson Space, the Swedish joint venture between Saab and telecoms group Ericsson, has taken a 65% stake in Fokker Space of the Netherlands, with Dutch aerospace company Stork buying remaining shares. Fokker Space, to be known as Dutch Space Industry (DSI), is a specialist in solar arrays and robotics technology, and is a prime contractor on the European Robotic Arm project. It is also involved in the Ariane launcher project, contributing expertise in light-rigid and strong structural components. The business, previously jointly owned by UCN and Fokker trustees, split from ill-fated Fokker in 1995. It has annual sales of €100 million ($86.8 million)
