Fokker Services has gained the right to repair Embraer ERJ-135 and -145 aircraft, giving it the opportunity to begin reducing its reliance in airframe maintenance on Fokker aircraft. In addition to being granted Authorised Repair Station status on these types, Fokker Services has named Portuguese carrier Portugalia as its launch customer. It will modify eight ERJ-145s in co-operation with Embraer.

The company, a member of the large Dutch Stork Aerospace Group, has until now primarily focussed on the existing fleet of some 1,200 Fokker F27 and F50 turboprops and Fokker F28 and F100 jets. These make up 80% of its activities. "However, the number of Fokker aircraft in service is slowing declining, as new aircraft are no longer in production," says a spokesman. There are 126 ERJs in service in Europe at present, with a further 141 on order.

Fokker Services is also launching its new website - www.myfokkerfleet.com - at the show. This is a customer-focussed B2B website accessible by Fokker operators and owners.
