French finance minister Francis Mer has said that the further privatisation of Air France will probably not take place for six to 12 months. He cited the poor operating environment for airlines and the possibility of war in Iraq as reasons why an earlier sale might not raise what the government hopes. The state is looking to reduce its 54% holding in Air France to around 20%.
