France Uses ASARS

The French air force has purchased the Israeli-developed airborne search-and-rescue system (ASARS) to equip its aircraft flying over Bosnia. Developed by Tadiran, the ASARS provides range and bearing information for the non-visual location of radio transponders. The Italian air force is also evaluating the ASARS.
