With 90% of the world market for Flight Training Devices (FTDs) Frasca International (Stand A1100) could well be forgiven for cruising comfortably into the new millennium.

But the man charged with boosting new business for the company stresses that every effort is being made to maintain the dominant position which has been achieved over 42 years in the business.

Greg Campbell, director of New Business Development, says the market penetration of 1,700 simulators in 77 countries will not lead to any resting on laurels. "We are very proactive in this region, which accounts for 35% of our business and recent sales in Singapore, China and Thailand have contributed to an already busy order book. Although we didn't see any drop in business during the Asian economic downturn because of orders already placed, we didn't see growth. That's what we are looking forward to now that the regional downturn seems to be back on the up again."
