FLIGHTSAFETY International (FSI) has ordered two Saab 340A/B Level D full flight simulators to enter service by the end of 1996. Locations for the regional-turboprop simulators will be decided later this year, and FSI is evaluating the possibility of placing one in the Asia-Pacific region.

FSI has also ordered two Raytheon Beech King Air 200 Level D simulators. The US training company already operates 12 King Air simulators at seven locations and has three Saab 340 simulators - two Level B machines and one, at San Antonio, Texas, certificated to Level D.

All the simulators will be built by FSI's Simulation Systems division, and will include the Vital ChromaView daylight, photo-textured, visual system produced by FSI's Visual Systems division. The company has several Level D machines under construction, including FSI's first Boeing 777 simulator.

FSI's new Learjet 60 business-jet simulator has received Level D certification. The machine is located at the Tucson, Arizona, training centre.
