FLIGHTSAFETY International (FSI) and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University are to establish an airline flight-training centre at the university's Daytona Beach, Florida, campus, to be operational by the end on 1996.
FSI has agreed to equip the centre, which is to be built by Embry-Riddle, with two Level D full-flight simulators, one each for the Beech 1900D and Boeing 737-300. The simulators are being built by FSI's, Simulation Systems division.
The centre will be used by Embry-Riddle to provide advanced training for graduates of its own and other aeronautical-degree courses, for commercial-airline training and for research. FSI will use the centre to provide transition training for students from the Vero Beach, Florida-based FlightSafety Academy and for type-rating training under its Airline New Hire pilot selection and preparation programme.
Santa Anna, California-based Avia Leasing has sold its two Level A Boeing 727-100 simulators to Embry-Riddle's Prescott, Arizona, campus. The sale was brokered by St Louis Missouri based Stan Garst.
