Fuel quality is vital and one Georgia company at NBAA is determined to highlight the fact.
Fuel Quality Services (booth 4909) is promoting its HY-LiTE biological fuel testing system for the rapid detection
of microbiological contamination in fuel, fuel storage and distribution systems.
Results are confirmed in less than 10min and detect the presence of both aerobic and anaerobic micro organisms, some of which are not always detected by traditional growth-based methods.
FQS can also help treatment with aviation approved biocide Kathon to kill the contamination.
It has a treat rate of 1USgal (3.79 litres) to 10,000USgal of fuel and is widely used in the aviation industry. The biocide causes no deleterious effects to equipment and components; and has been approved by engine and airframe manufacturers.
