Gama Aviation's long-standing contract to provide aerial medical support for the Scottish Ambulance Service has been renewed until 2020.

The Farnborough, UK-headquartered company has been providing the service since 1993. Gama's Scottish fleet includes two Beechcraft King Air 200Cs based at Aberdeen and Glasgow airports, and a couple of Eurocopter EC135T2s based at Glasgow and Inverness.

The light, twin-engined helicopters will be replaced in 2014 with the larger, longer range EC145T2s. These aircraft will be supported, when required, by two EC225 Super Puma medium twins, based in Shetland and Aberdeen.
