Garuda Indonesia is studying the acquisition of BAe 146 jets to enable it to operate regional services from airports with short runways, reports Flight Daily News sister publication Air Transport Intelligence. The carrier wants the aircraft to operate from Indonesia's third largest city, Bandung, to Jakarta and to help fill the gap left by retiring Fokker F28s, which are being phased out in favour of Boeing 737-300s.
