Microsoft magnate Bill Gates and consumer advocate Ralph Nader traded barbs Friday from 5,000km apart. At a shareholders' meeting in Seattle, Gates charged that a conference hosted by Nader to discuss Microsoft - along with the government's probe of Microsoft - amount to a "witch hunt" atmosphere that will help his competitors. Nader called it a "paranoid style of response- typical of Bill Gates and too many Microsoft top executives." Nader called the two-day session to scrutinise Microsoft's business practices.
