Iberia's maintenance arm has signed an agreement with GE Aviation that will allow the Spanish company to provide MRO services on GE Aviation CF34-8C/E engines.
The carrier said that the contract expands Iberia Maintenance's current overhaul capability of the CF34 engine family, licenses GE's engine maintenance technology and provides GE technical support for Iberia's customers.
In addition, Iberia Maintenance has partnered with GE to develop a high-pressure compressor blade repair shop for the CFM International CFM56-5 and -7 families. The company is in the final stages of GE certification, Iberia added.
