Era expands
US operator Era Helicopters has ordered 20 new Eurocopter types in a move to expand the company's offshore support operation in the Gulf of Mexico and its emergency medical services offering in the USA. The deal includes eight EC145 intermediate twins, eight EC135 light twins and four AS350B2 single-turbine helicopters. Deliveries are scheduled to begin next year. The Lake Charles, Louisiana-based company also has four EC225s on order for delivery in 2008 and 2009.
Epic unveiling
Epic Aircraft plans to launch two new aircraft next month at the Sun 'n Fun air show in Florida. One will be a single-engined jet and the other a propeller-driven aircraft. Both models will first be sold as experimental kits "for market verification and systems testing", and will later be certificated, according to Epic.
