Q300 FOR JAPAN
The Japanese coastguard has selected the Bombardier Q300 maritime surveillance aircraft as its next-generation patrol and surveillance aircraft. This brings to 39 the total number of Q-series aircraft operating in Japan or on order. Field Aviation of Toronto will provide the mechanical modifications to the aircraft under contract to Japan's Sojitz, the prime contractor on the programme. Bombardier announced in September that it would open a spares depot for business and regional aircraft customers in the country.
