Legand options
American Legend is offering a 120hp (90kW) Jabiru 3300 six-cylinder engine as an option on its Legend Cub light sport aircraft, offering more useful load, short take-off and faster climb than the standard 100hp four-cylinder Continental.
Engine approval
Lycoming has received European certification for its IO-580-B1A piston engine. The direct-drive engine produces 315hp (235kW) at 2,700rpm, and has been selected to power the Czech Evektor VTU-131i Cobra four-seat light aircraft.
Vantage point
Superior Air Parts has received Canadian certification for its 180hp (135kW) Vantage piston engine in both O-360 and fuel-injected IO-360 models. The engine has been selected by American Champion for its High Country Explorer.
Medical purchase
Air Medical Group Holdings has acquired Med-Trans, an emergency medical-service provider operating 17 Bell helicopters in eight US states. Ed-Trans will operate as an affiliate of Air Evac Lifeteam, which has 63 bases across the USA.
