EC135 MILESTONE
Eurocopter has delivered its 500th EC135 light twin-engined helicopter to the air ambulance operation run by Austrian motorist and touring club OAMTC. The club operates a fleet of 25 EC135s
BELIZE FIRST
Astrum Helicopters has launched the first commercial helicopter service in Belize to exploit the Central American country's burgeoning tourism industry. The company, which operates Bell 206 JetRangers and LongRangers, will provide aerial sightseeing tours and tailored charter flights, search and rescue, and medical evacuation services.
PIPER CRASH
The pilot of a training aircraft owned by the Emirates Flying School was killed when his aircraft crashed in a mountainous area in Oman on 29 August. According to local reports the pilot was flying a single engine Piper PA28 Cherokee rented from the Emirates Flying School when it disappeared from the radar of Fujairah airport's air traffic control and lost radio contact.
