G1000 training

FlightSafety International will offer Garmin G1000 integrated avionics system training for the Cessna Citation Mustang under an agreement reached with Garmin International late in December. Available this month, the training will provide FlightSafety customers with familiarity training for the G1000 in advance of flight training. Plans for the future include online generic training for a variety of single-engined piston aircraft equipped with the Garmin system.

Cessna scores

Four European flight schools will soon upgrade their training fleets with 22 new Cessna 172 Skyhawks. The largest order, for 14 aircraft, has been placed by Euro Flyers in Spain. Two Skyhawks were sent to the school in December, with the remainder to be delivered throughout this year.

University grows

The University of North Dakota's Aerospace Foundation will build a new flight training facility in Lumberton, North Carolina in conjunction with the Robeson Community College Flight Training Center in Lumberton. Training programmes will include airport management, air traffic control and commercial aviation. The new facility, to be completed in May, will be located at Lumberton airport.
