Eurocopter ERA
Era Helicopters has ordered four more Eurocopter EC225s, bringing its order tally for the type to eight. Era is the first offshore oil and gas operator to have selected the EC225 for operations in the Gulf of Mexico. "The EC225 will play a pivotal role in our growth, not only in the Gulf of Mexico, but also as we expand into the international market," says the Lake Charles, Louisiana-based company.
Grand option
AgustaWestland has unveiled a forward-facing seating option for the A109S Grand light twin helicopter. The new layout - which will be targeted at offshore and corporate operators - provides two rows of three forward-facing seats as option to the standard three forward and three aft facing seat layout. Agusta has clinched 170 orders for the Grand to date. Meanwhile, Apical Industries has received European approval for its emergency float and life raft systems for the Agusta A109. They are designed to enhance the aircraft's safety in the event of an emergency water landing.
Winglet dealer
Winglet manufacturer BLR Aerospace has appointed Hawker Beechcraft Services as an authorised dealer. Eight service centres will sell and install its winglets for Beechcraft King Air 200s and 300s.
