CIRRUS UPGRADE
Cirrus is offering the Avidyne Entegra Release 9 integrated flightdeck system as an option on selected new SR20 and SR22 light aircraft. The Cirrus family of piston singles has been equipped with Entegra glass cockpits since 2003, says the airframer. "We are now making Entegra Release 9 available as an option on new aircraft to meet the needs of those customers desiring the next-generation Avidyne avionics platform," it adds.
JAPAN TAKES POWER
AgustaWestland has sold an AW109 Power light helicopter to Japanese sports equipment manufacturer Alpen. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery before the end of the year to the Nagoya-based company, which will use the aircraft for VIP/corporate transport.
BOND MILESTONE
Bond Air Services' 18-strong Eurocopter EC135 helicopter fleet has flown more than 50,000h since the first light twin-engined helicopter - registration G-SASA - entered service with the UK-based operator nine years ago. Bond is scheduled to take delivery in January of another EC135, bringing its total fleet to 38 helicopters.
