RAFT APPROVAL
Dart Helicopter has clinched European approval for its Apical liferaft kit for the AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter. The reversible, inflatable raft is designed for up to 15 people.
RED CRESCENT MILS
Russia will export five Mil Mi-171 transport helicopters to the Iranian Red Crescent Society in 2009 according to the Malaysian national news agency Bernama. The aircraft will be used to provide relief services to victims of man-made and natural disasters.
LIBERTY DEALER
US light-aircraft manufacturer Liberty Aerospace has appointed Flight Aviation as its first US dealership. The Fort Smith, Arkansas-based company has taken delivery of its first two Liberty XL2 piston singles and is to add another two aircraft to its inventory by year-end.
EUROCOPTER USA
American Eurocopter has opened a helicopter maintenance and facility in Long Beach, California. The facility will support the 200-plus Eurocopter types based on the US West Coast.
