General aviators can get free UK weather forecasting services from the World Meteorological Centre (The Met Office) website at http://www.met-office.gov.uk/aviation. The Met Office says: "It has always been our intention to make as much weather forecast data freely available to the GA sector as possible, as part of our commitment to promoting safer skies." Free weather data provision, it says, has become possible due to the reduced data delivery costs afforded by the internet.
